I saw this list of 7 Numbers That Could Save Your Life, from Yahoo Shine! and thought I’d pass it along.
- Exercise Minutes: 150 (per week)
- Blood Sugar: A1C Less Than 5.7%
- Blood Pressure: 130/80 or less
- Target Heart Rate: 85-145
- Cholesterol: below 100mg/dL for LDL, above 50mg/dL for HDL
- BMI: Up to 25
- Daily Steps: 10,000
I won’t get too picky, given the fact that they include HDL and LDL for cholesterol, so it’s really 8 key numbers, because the list is actually pretty good. I’ll also note that if you eat a healthy diet and consistently achieve #7, you’ll likely be doing much better on all of the other numbers. Invest in a pedometer, or a stylish Fuelband and get started.
